All of my life I have loved animals and drawing. Upon leaving school, I spent three years studying graphic design, majoring in illustration. Since completing my studies, I have been working as an in-house graphic designer for one of Australia's leading software companies, where I have been able to utilise both my design and illustration skills.
Drawing animals and capturing their personality is a challenge I enjoy. I have tried pastels on many different types of paper over the last couple of years. Since discovering velour paper, I haven't looked back. I find this to be the best combination for pet portraits, especially fur.
Growing up I was surrounded by horses and dogs. Horse-mad as a youngster, I started riding at the age of seven on Lucky. He was the first pony my sister and I owned. Lucky came with a bag full of tricks, but was fun to ride. He lived to twenty-nine.
The non-human members of my family are a ball-mad, frisbee-crazy Australian Cattle Dog called Kayla; Middy, my Winderadeen-bred Quarter Horse gelding; my husband's Brother Dier mare Karal Dier Sensation; and my latest addition, Classy Enuff.
